Setup
The theme editor shows notices on my product page. Do shoppers see them?
No. Notices show only in the theme editor. On a product, one Product data notice above the chapters counts the chapters that have content and gives the next step for each, with a link to that part of Product data setup. On the storefront a chapter without data shows nothing. To hide every setup notice, turn off Theme settings > Theme editor > Show setup notices in the theme editor.
Can I set up product data without metaobjects or apps?
Yes. The minimum setup takes about 10 minutes in the Shopify admin and the theme editor: set the product's category, create a Supplement Facts text field and a Serving size field, connect them to the Supplement Facts block, and type each product's label rows. The other chapters work the same way. Metaobjects add key actives, labels per variant and the batch lookup when you want them.
Do I have to create metafields before I launch?
No. Product pages work with Shopify's own fields: title, price, variants, images and description. A product with a category and its attributes, which need no setup, already shows a Specifications table. A product with no supplement data at all, such as a shirt, shows one from its category, type, vendor and options (products without custom data). Add the label and the other chapters product by product; see the minimum setup.
I set up Supplement Facts, but the label doesn't show.
If you type the rows on the product, check that the Supplement Facts block's Label rows is connected to your text field in the template the product uses, and that each row has a name and an amount separated by a vertical bar (how to write the rows).
If you use a Supplement facts entry, check three things. The product's metafield must be custom.supplement_facts, type Metaobject, pointing to your entry. The entry needs rows: a row without a Nutrient is skipped, and an entry without rows falls back to the typed rows. And the field keys must match the table on the setup page, for example rows and serving_size; a field named after its label with a different key isn't read.
My sizes have different labels. Can each variant have its own?
Yes. Create the Supplement facts metafield under Variants too, with the same namespace and key, and point each variant to its entry. The label, key actives and serving size follow the selected variant. Variants without an entry show the product's.
Shopify generated a different key for one of my fields. What do I do?
Edit the key to match the setup page before you save. If your admin doesn't let you edit it, name the field after its key first (for example form), save, then rename the field to what you want. Shopify keeps the key.
Shop by goal and the goal navigation are empty.
Choose your goal collections in Theme settings > Goals > Goal collections. Shop by goal and the product grid can also take their own collections in their section settings. Give each collection an Accent color to color its marker.
Why do phone grids show rows on one collection and two columns on another?
Theme settings > Product cards > Layout on mobile is Automatic by default: a grid shows rows, the image beside the name and price, when any product in it has key ingredient rows, and two columns otherwise. Choose Rows or Two columns to use one layout everywhere.
Why do some product cards show the form and diet instead of ingredient rows?
Cards show key ingredient rows from the product's Supplement facts entry: rows with Key active turned on, as many as Theme settings > Product cards > Key ingredient rows. A product without them shows its form and dietary preferences from the product category instead.
Selling
Why doesn't the subscribe option show on my product?
Purchase options show only for products with selling plans. Install a subscription app such as Shopify Subscriptions, create a plan and add the product to it in the app. Then check that the product template has the Purchase options block. Details are in Subscriptions.
How do I show price per serving and how long a delivery lasts?
Fill in the Servings metafield (custom.servings, integer) on each variant, or once on the product. Supply lines use the daily amount from the product's Protocol entry, and one serving a day without it.
I set a Discount message in the Routine builder, but the cart shows no discount.
The message is text only. The theme applies no discounts: create an automatic discount under Discounts in your Shopify admin with the same terms, and the cart shows it.
Where do complementary products show?
In the Related products section at the end of the product page: complementary products you set in Shopify's Search and Discovery app come first, tagged "Pairs with", then the related products Shopify picks. The Complementary products block is still in the block list if you want a short list in the buy box too. See Related products and pairings.
Can flavors show as swatches?
No. The variant picker shows swatches only when every value of an option has a color or image swatch in Shopify admin. Flavor values from the product category have no swatch, so flavors show as chips, option cards or a dropdown, by the variant picker's rules. Color options with swatches show as swatches.
How do I show reviews and star ratings?
Install a reviews app. Add its review block to the Reviews chapter in Product details, which shows only when the app block renders something. Show rating summary adds the average and count above the app's reviews. Stars on cards and under the title come from the rating fields most review apps fill (reviews.rating and reviews.rating_count). The theme shows no reviews of its own.
How does the free shipping progress bar work?
Turn on Theme settings > Cart > Show free shipping progress and enter Free shipping minimum in your store's default currency, matching the free shipping rate in your shipping settings. If your subscription app gives subscriptions free shipping, also turn on Subscriptions ship free: a cart of subscriptions then reads "Your subscription ships free", and a mixed cart asks only for one-time items. The theme only displays the progress; your shipping rates decide what checkout charges.
Lab results and compliance
A customer typed their batch code and got "No batch matches".
The lookup finds a batch by its entry handle first, so set each Lab batch entry's handle to its code (mg-24118 for MG-24118). Without a matching handle it compares codes across the first 250 Lab batch entries only. Codes match regardless of case, spaces and dashes. See Lab batch.
The compliance statement doesn't show on some products.
The Compliance disclaimer block shows your statement from Theme settings > Compliance on supplement products: products with a Supplement facts entry, or a category under Vitamins & Supplements. To show it on every product, turn off its Only on supplement products. It also shows on any product where a claim ends in an asterisk. A product disclosure that is the statement itself replaces it. To show it on every page, turn on Show in the footer.
Can I move or remove the footnotes?
No. The theme places the Footnotes section at the end of every page's main content, and it shows only on pages with footnote markers, along with your compliance statement when a claim's asterisk needs it. You can change its heading in the theme editor. See Footnotes and the compliance statement.
Does the theme write health claims or legal text for me?
No. Every claim, timeline, disclosure and statement comes from what you enter. The theme links text that ends in an asterisk to your statement, and the Results timeline block's Footnote starts as "Individual results vary. This timeline is a general guide, not a promise of results." You are responsible for what your product pages claim.
Customizing
How do I turn off the section numbers or the "Fig. 1" captions?
In Theme settings > Layout, set Section numbering to Off, and Image caption label to Hidden. Only headings with a label are numbered, and never a Centered or Hidden heading. To number fewer, clear a section's Label or turn off its Show section number. That checkbox shows only where it can number something: the section has a label, its Heading layout is not Centered or Hidden, and Section numbering is on.
A product name breaks at its hyphen on phones. How do I keep it together?
The theme keeps short compounds such as L-Theanine, 5-HTP and K2-7 on one line: a hyphenated word whose first or last part has one or two characters doesn't break. Longer compounds, such as Extended-Release, can still break at the hyphen. To keep one together, type a non-breaking hyphen (Unicode U+2011, “‑”) in place of the hyphen in the product title. It looks the same, and the line breaks before or after the word instead. Paste it from a character map; most keyboards don't have it. Use it only where a break looks wrong: it is a different character, so a shopper who types the usual hyphen may not find the product by that word. Add the usual spelling as a product tag, and check the product's URL handle under Search engine listing before you save.
How do I change colors and fonts?
Colors are six reusable schemes in Theme settings > Colors; each section picks a scheme. In each scheme, Accent colors the few things that need attention: warnings such as the over-limit flag, footnote markers and one highlighted value per chart. Bars and charts use the text color. Fonts are in Theme settings > Typography. See Theme settings.
Can I translate the theme or change its wording?
Touchmark ships in English. To change the theme's own wording, use Edit default theme content from the theme's menu in Online Store > Themes. To translate the store, use Shopify's Translate & Adapt app.
Does Touchmark support customer accounts?
The theme ships the classic customer account pages: login, registration, account, addresses and orders. With new customer accounts, Shopify hosts the account pages instead.
Will I lose my changes when the theme updates?
Changes made in the theme editor carry over when you update through Shopify. Changes to the theme's code don't, so keep a copy of any code edits and duplicate the theme before you make them.
Support
What does support cover?
Theme bugs and questions about using Touchmark's features and settings. Third-party apps and custom code aren't covered. See the support policy.
Do you offer custom development?
No. Custom work is outside support, but tell us what you're trying to do and we'll point you to the setting, block or Shopify feature that comes closest.
